First of all, Happy New Year! It’s been a while since our last post but the end of the year got kind of hectic for us! New Year’s Resolution: Post at least once a week! It’s weird because I used to bang out blogs in college 5 times a week (but I guess I had more spare time then, too). We were lucky enough to start off the year with a set of shoots and our first convention of 2014: Animate! Miami! I was fortunate to do some photography work for them this past November and December, and I could not pass up the opportunity to attend. This anime focused convention is in it’s second year and is run by the same folks who put on Florida SuperCon!
This weekend we randomly decided to hop on over to our backyard a.k.a. Disney to check out the DisneyBound meet-up at Dapper Day at Hollywood Studios! Dapper Day is an unofficial Disney event held every spring and fall. People dress up in their classiest, sharpest, and neatest i.e. dapper outfits. Don’t worry about intruding: It’s a public event and everyone is welcome to participate. It’s quite a celebration and everyone is super friendly. Don’t be surprised if someone asks to get a picture of you!

Throwback Thursday! This time it’s one of my older on-location cosplay shoots (quite possibly one of the first), featuring the amazing Abra as Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series! This shoot takes me back to when I was still discovering off camera lighting. I found out that my 7D could set off speedlights and then I about flipped. I was trying to shoot everything with off camera lighting. Bare off camera lighting. Clearly I didn’t really know what I was doing yet, but we did it in the name of science. I’m going to step back and re-edit my old photos and see what turns out. :]

Music Monday strikes again! I’m going to attempt to publish these mixes on Monday morning so you can have them for at least part of the day. Now this week, I have compiled some music to help you do some work. Music will range in this list so hopefully you have an open mind and can switch gears pretty easily: from jazz to dubstep. Sure to keep you up during your Monday morning blues.
Looking to post a Throwback Thursday this week along with a recap of another shoot we did this past week!
Have a great week everyone!

Dragon Con 2013. Two weeks ago, I finally made it back to Atlanta for Dragon Con once again after a year hiatus from going. In 2012, I definitely saw all the pictures and the times people had and man was I envious. I vowed at that point that I would not miss Dragon Con again. Unsure of our hotel situation a couple weeks back, we weren’t sure we were going to make it, but thankfully Betsy and Sarah are a couple of great friends and offered us a place to stay at the Westin!
Dragon Con is a multigenre convention held annually in Atlanta, GA since 1987. This year’s attendance was huge, hitting about 57,000 con-goers! The convention spans 5 hotels and even more common areas such as the Peachtree Center and the Atlanta America’s Mart Convention Center. The convention draws a thousands of people from all over the country as far as California, and even brings in people from other countries. And it’s not all about the panels and celebrities; Dragon Con is a veritable celebration of all things nerdy and geeky, to put it lightly. Events, parties, and raves usually end up running into the early morning hours.
