An Early Morning Shoot with Sam

Hey friends!  A few weeks ago in the wee hours of the morning, we had the pleasure with working with three of our favorite people, Heather Toyoko and Katrina Elbo, our go-to Make Up Artist and Hair Stylist, respectively, and Samantha, our beautiful model for a few of our shoots. We went out for an enchanting portraiture session!

 

Our morning started around 6 AM.  And that’s an hour after Katrina and Heather started working on Sam’s hair and make-up! The forecast was looking a bit ominous for the morning, but we headed over to Katrina’s place to meet up with everyone and head out to shoot.  We were looking for something natural so we decided to check out a couple of our local state parks. :]

Our first stop was at beautifully peaceful Wekiwa Springs State Park.  We pulled off to the side of the road to climb through the tall grass to shoot.

 

 

I actually stayed off to the side getting candids while Elysia shot and directed Sam. Heather stayed with us to take care of Sam’s makeup for the duration of the shoot. Things were going pretty well, and then that forecast of rain decided to show up. We drove around a bit half to kill the time and half to find another location to take photos!  We got lost trying to get to the other side of the park, but after an hour or so of driving we finally got to the other side!  And the rain had let up, too!

Kelly Park has a beautiful rock formation and crystal clear water welling up from the spring.  Sam dressed for the occasion. Katrina’s coloring matched perfectly. :]

 

     

 

This is one of my favorite places to shoot in Orlando. It’s a great place for all sorts of photos.  If you’re not shooting, then go for the swimming and tubing. Definitely check out Kelly Park!

I can spout about how Sam is such a natural model.  Heather’s always been a stellar make-up artist.  I love working with both of them! 😀
